Would you like to play a key role in Scottish education? Have you experience of further or higher education leadership, or developing strategy for growth in a SME and interested in skills development, or understand employee relations? We are looking to appoint 3 new members to the SQA Board.
The SQA provides a wide range of high quality, internationally recognised qualifications and associated services which help people realise their potential and achieve their ambitions.
Length of Appointment
Board members will be appointed for a period of up to four years at the end of which their appointment may be renewed subject to satisfactory performance appraisal and the skills, knowledge and experience requirements of the Board at the time of renewal. Reappointment is not automatic.
Members will be expected to attend all Board meetings (usually seven meetings per year) which take place normally on a Wednesday morning either in Glasgow or Shawfair Park, Midlothian. Members will also have to attend relevant Committee meetings and contribute to other Board business as required. Board members will be required to contribute around 23 days per year to Board business.
Board member appointments currently attract a remuneration of £4,787 per annum and are non-pensionable. In connection with their appointment Board members are entitled to the reimbursement of all reasonable travel and subsistence costs including reasonable receipted dependants’ carer costs.
Interviews will take place in Edinburgh on the 25th, 26th and 27th April 2018.
