Appointment of Chair of the University Court

Glasgow Caledonian University, the University for the Common Good, has a growing global reputation for delivering social benefit and impact through education, research and social innovation. With Nobel Laureate, Professor Muhammad Yunus, as our Chancellor our goal is to align with others in partnership to provide access to education, to transform lives and to promote health, well-being and prosperity in the communities we serve at home in the UK and overseas.

The University is in an important phase in the delivery of its Strategy 2020 while looking ahead to its future strategic priorities. We now wish to appoint an outstanding and committed candidate to lead the University’s governing body as Chair of the University Court.

The University’s governing body, the University Court, is appointing a new Chair with effect from February 2018. The new Chair will lead the Court in overseeing the strategic direction of the University, maintaining high standards of corporate governance and supporting the Principal and Vice-Chancellor in pursuing the University’s strategy.

The role is remunerated and appropriate expenses will be reimbursed.

The Court values the strength delivered through diversity in its composition and particularly welcomes applications from women, people with disabilities and people from ethnic minorities.
