Scottish Funding Council
Appointment of Chair
Have you got the experience and skills to play a key role in making Scotland the best place to learn, educate, research and innovate? Do you have the ability to help Scotland’s young people access the learning that will provide them with the skills and qualifications they need so that they succeed in life? Can you lead significant cultural change within an organisation; enable improvement across the further and higher education and wider skills system; and support improved outcomes for our learners and our economy?
The Scottish Further and Higher Education Funding Council – the national strategic body responsible for funding teaching, learning and research – is looking for a new Chair.
An influential leader, you will bring a passion for making a difference for Scotland’s learners and work with colleges and universities and other parts of the skills and enterprise system to make a major contribution to Scotland’s social, cultural and economic development.
The expected time commitment is around 2 days per week in return for remuneration of £460 per day. We would welcome applications from anyone who believes they could make a strong contribution, particularly from groups currently under-represented on Scotland’s public bodies, such as women, disabled people, ethnic minorities and people aged under 50. Ministers would welcome applicants from all geographical regions in Scotland to be truly reflective of the communities it serves.
The closing date for applications for these positions is 17 July 2017.
Appointed on merit; committed to diversity and equality.
