Scottish Environment Protection Agency
Appointment of Members of the Board from 1 January 2018
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Board of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) with Scottish Ministers looking to make up to two appointments from 1 January 2018.
SEPA has been going through profound changes in recent years, and continues to do so. We have been given a unique and visionary Statutory Purpose: to protect and improve the environment in ways that, as far as possible, also create health and well-being benefits and sustainable economic growth. It’s a very powerful purpose for an environment protection agency. Delivering on its successfully requires new ways of thinking and new ways of acting.
As a Member of the Board, you will provide support to the Chair and contribute effectively to the setting and monitoring of SEPA’s corporate strategy. You will be able to take a strategic view and contribute to collective leadership, provide appropriate support and challenge to senior staff and have the ability to identify and use evidence and analysis to make well-informed decisions.
The appointments are four years with the possibility of reappointment subject to evidence of effective performance and satisfying the skills and knowledge required at the time of reappointment and beyond. The appointments are remunerated at the rate of £276.30 per day for a time commitment of a maximum of 30 days per year. Further information is contained within the applicant pack.
Closing date for applications is Thursday, 19 October 2017 at midnight.
