Members - Scottish Social Services Council
Remuneration:£143 per day
Closing date:15 June 2018 at midnight
Do you want to make a difference to social services in Scotland?
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is the regulator for the social service workforce in Scotland. We protect the public by registering social service workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct we can investigate and take action.
Scottish Ministers are looking for two new members of our Council (board), one of whom must be currently registered with the SSSC.
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity! You will:
* need to spend a minimum of 5 days per month on Council business, some of which may be in the evenings or weekends
* some flexibility to attend more depending on the Council’s on-going business needs
* be appointed for up to three years and may be re-appointed for a further three years - reappointment is not automatic.
Meetings are normally held in Dundee, home to the new V&A Museum- Scotland’s first Design Museum opening in September 2018!
The rate of pay is £143 per day and you will also be paid allowances for any travel and subsistence costs, childcare or carer expenses when you are carrying out Council business. Remuneration is paid through payroll, is taxable and the appointment is not pensionable. PAYE deductions in respect of income tax and National Insurance will be made. If appropriate it will be for you to arrange authorisation of the non-application of PAYE or National Insurance.
Can I apply?
