Royal Academician, singer-songwriter, social activist and philanthropist, Dr Annie Lennox OBE is the new Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University and Professor Pamela Gillies CBE, an esteemed academic with a high profile across the sector, has been the University’s Principal and Vice-Chancellor since 2006. Rob Woodward, formerly Chief Executive Officer of the STV Group PLC, has been the Chair of Court since February 2018.
GCU seeks to appoint new Lay Governors to the University Court, which is responsible for approving the University’s overall strategic direction and exercises general oversight of the University’s performance and development. We seek candidates with senior level experience and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills who are motivated by the opportunity to make a contribution to the future of this pioneering and innovative institution. Candidates will be able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to the University’s mission, vision and values and will be able to offer the time and focus to contribute effectively both at meetings and from an ambassadorial perspective.
The University welcomes expressions of interest from individuals with experience of one or more of the following areas. Prior board, leadership and international experience would be advantageous.
· Technology/Digital, Marketing and Consumer Insight
· Fashion and Retail
· Human Resources/People
· Property and Estates
