Borders college has one of the best track records learner success in Scotland and makes and essential contribution to the education and training and borders workforce. We are seeking new members to join our Regional Board to help ensure that we continue to be a sucess.
We are looking for individuals who share our commitment to providing the best possible learning experince to the people of the borders and who can represent the interests of the Borders economy and communities. We would welcome applications from those with experience of the keys sectors in the Borders economy as well as the broader needs of the education, public/private and third sectors in the region aned individuals with knoweldge of buisness operatioins.
No prior board membership experince is required. Training and mentoring is available and an induction programme is provided to new members. In addition, the board is especially keen to hear from those groups who are currently under represented on boards of Scottish public bodies, such as disabled people, ethnic minorities, women, people under 50 and LGBT+ individuals.
Board Members are not remunerated but travel and other allowable expenses will be paid. Time commitment varies but is unlikely to exceed two meetings a month.
