Do you have the skills and experience to help Disclosure Scotland protect Scotland’s people by shaping a safe environment to live and work?


Disclosure Scotland is offering an exciting opportunity for three exceptional individuals to serve as Non-Executive Members of the Disclosure Scotland Board.


DS is an executive agency of the Scottish Government. As such it operates impartially while remaining directly accountable to the Scottish Ministers for its performance and use of public funds.  Disclosure Scotland is responsible for delivering the legislation and helping shape Scottish Government policy on disclosure of criminal history information to allow employers to make better informed, safe and fair recruitment decisions.


We are currently undergoing significant modernisation and transformational change to improve the delivery of our service and help us be more customer focused.  A number of important projects will be undertaken over the next few years to deliver this transformational change and increase our efficiency.  


We are seeking to enhance the skills and experience of our Board by inviting applications from individuals for three new posts. We are looking for individuals with a background and knowledge in the following areas: 


Working at a senior level in Corporate Governance and has had previous board experience;


Change management in a business, ideally with experience of digital transformation;


Human rights and equality issues with a sound knowledge of strategic planning.


We are looking for individuals who will bring unrivalled skills and experience to help us successfully transform our business help us successfully transform our business, deliver value to our customers and fulfil our corporate responsibilities and values.


If you can demonstrate an inclusive approach to dealing with other Board members and stakeholders, can constructively challenge views, have a focus on the ‘big picture’ and feel that you can make a significant contribution to an organisation going through a  transformational change then we would welcome your application.


The length of all appointments will be for a duration of 3 years with the possibility of contract renewal. We aim to invite the successful candidate to join us by November 2019.


We would welcome applications from anyone who believes they could make a strong contribution, particularly from groups currently under-represented on Scotland’s public bodies, such as women, disabled people, ethnic minorities and people aged under 50.
